Hacettepe University has been cooperating scientifically with reputable institutions from the world's leading countries in science since its establishment. Our university has bilateral cooperation agreements with 217 institutions from 42 countries.

The world's leading universities in medicine and health sciences (such as Harvard, Cornell, Cambridge), the National Institute of Health (NIH), the most important central health institution in the United States, and MD Anderson Medical Center, renowned for its work in the field of cancer, are indicators of our University's commitment to international research cooperation. In addition, faculty members of our Institute of Neurological Sciences and Psychiatry have active international collaborations with Harvard University, University Paris-Sud, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Lyon Neuroscience Research Center, Leiden University Medical Center. Various collaborations are also carried out outside the field of Medicine and Health Sciences. For example, a joint research and application center has been established in our University within the framework of cooperation with Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Center and the University of Cape Town, the world-renowned research organization in the field of Mining and Ore Preparation of our Mining Engineering department. The Faculty of Communication also cooperates with organizations such as UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), ACMI (Australian Centre for The Moving Image) and Curtin University, Monash University, Queensland University of Technology, Georg Ohm Technical University, Eastern Mediterranean University. In addition, the work carried out by the Department of Social Services with the World Bank and the United Nations has a leading role in this field in our country.

Academic activities for international cooperation in our university are supported within the scope of special programs. Among the support provided by the Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit, multidisciplinary research projects aimed at improving university-industry, university-public and university-university cooperation at international level have a special place. Hacettepe University, a research-oriented university, pays special attention to such research projects, especially aimed at strengthening its global outlook.
